Posey County Jail Notarization

Recently, I had an appointment at the Posey County Detention Center. While it's not uncommon for me to go to the jail to do a notarization, I thought about people not knowing this service that I offer. You may ask why someone would need a signature from an inmate. Well, there are many reasons but I'll list a few of the notarizations I've completed; Power of Attorney, Deeds or other real estate documents, guardianships and affidavits.

To date, I've been to both Vanderburgh and Posey County jails. If you need this service for your loved one it isn't as difficult as you may think. The first thing to do is contact Greater Evansville Mobile Notary to check availability. Second, contact the jail and find out if the inmate is allowed to meet with the notary. Depending on the type of notarization needed, there may be witnesses required and it is the job of the family member coordinating the meeting to know if the jail will supply the witnesses.

Once everything is set up the notary will go to the jail to to complete the notarization. There will need to be someone there to supply the notary with the documents and wait for the notary to complete the appointment to receive the notarized documents. Usually, the biggest hurdle is getting the appointment set up with the jail than getting the notarization completed.

You simply schedule an appointment, and I come to your location. I verify your identity, witness your signature, and then apply my notary seal to the document, making it official.

What payment options do you accept?

I accept cash, Zelle, and all major debit and credit cards, making it easy for you to pay in whichever way is most convenient for you.

What do I need to have ready for my mobile notary appointment?

You’ll need to have a valid government-issued ID, like a driver’s license or passport, and your document. Just remember not to sign it until I’m there to witness it.

Can a mobile notary provide legal advice?
